Cat. 02 Manure Treatment Systems

Relevant BMP Practice Codes 0201, 0202 and 0203

Proper treatment and handling of manure can further its use as a valuable
product and limit its potential environmental impact. A 30% (to max. of $30,000)
cost-share is available to qualified participants to undertake composting and
other manure treatment technologies.

Components to Application:

• Complete a Third Edition EFP and have it peer reviewed
• Complete Project Proposal Application (available from your local OSCIA County Program Representative)
• Read the Background Eligibility Information (attached to Project Justification and Assurances Form) (PJAF)
• Return the completed and signed PJAF - C

Required Justification and Assurances Forms:

• All projects PJAF - C

Eligible Expenses. Eligible expenses include, but may not be limited to:

• See detailed Project Eligibility Policy and Procedures
• Dewatering and nutrient recovery technologies
• Anaerobic digesters
• Composting infrastructure including pads, walls, covers, vessels and containment structures; specialized conveying equipment; mixing/aeration and watering equipment; and monitoring equipment.

Applicant Responsibilities:

• Read and adhere to Construction Guidelines (as required)
• Complete the appropriate Justification and Assurances forms
• Obtain all building, siting, and design permits or approvals that might be required and ensure that the proposed project complies with all Municipal, Provincial and Federal Regulations

Project Requirements:
Proposed composting projects in this category are required to plan for and
manage potential runoff by proper site planning.
