What is the Soil Health Check-Up?

The Soil Health Check-Up facilitates an assessment of on-farm soil health and water quality.
Three key fields on your farm will be assessed to establish both baseline soil health levels, and target levels.
The Soil Health Check-Up provides farmers with a unique opportunity to work with a CCA or P.Ag. free of charge.

CCAs and P.Ags. Eligible to Complete the Soil Health Check-Up

To be eligible for the Lake Simcoe Soil Health Improvement Project you must complete a Soil Health Check-Up with an eligible professional.

Only CCAs and P.Ags. participating in the program are eligible to deliver the Check-Up, if you know a professional who may be interested, direct them to contact SHIP for more information.

The Check-Up will be used to identify Best Management Practices (BMPs) that will aim to improve the soil health of your farm.

Completing the Check-Up with a CCA or P.Ag. is a prerequisite for the Lake Simcoe Soil Health Improvement Project.
