7:00PM – Compaction Day 2019 Results and Lessons Learned panel discussion
Featuring: Warren Schneckenburger, 2nd Vice President OSCIA & Alex Barrie, MASc., P.Eng. Soil Management Engineer, OMAFRA
Warren is a cash crop farmer from Morrisburg in Eastern Ontario. A long-time member of the Dundas SCIA, Warren has participated as a county and regional director for nearly as long as he’s been a member.
Warren farms with his wife Christine and his parents, growing corn, soybeans, winter wheat and edible beans. The farm has spent the last decade implementing soil conservation strategies into the operation as it transitions from conventional tillage to no-till systems. These changes have been well rooted in the mission of the OSCIA and been the main motivation of participating on the Provincial board.
Alex Barrie, MASc., P.Eng. is a Soil Management Engineer with OMAFRA, and has been working for OMAFRA since 2016. He grew up on a dairy farm in Bowmanville. He received a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Guelph. During university he worked as a coop student at two Canadian ag equipment manufacturers. He completed a Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Guelph focusing on vibration control for off-road vehicles and operator comfort.
