A note from Lois Sinclair, Regional Program Lead, OSCIA

Starting September 2020, OSCIA will be resuming in-person workshops for EFP and GYFP, respecting all recommendations from Public Health authorities. Upon registration, your local workshop leader will be in touch with you to confirm health and safety practices. All participants will be required to wear a mask during the workshop and registration numbers may be limited to support physical distancing.
Biosecurity workshops will continue to be offered by webinar only, and the online options for EFP and GYFP will still be available.

For more information and a schedule of upcoming workshops, visit https://www.ontariosoilcrop.org/oscia-p…/workshops-webinars/ or contact your local field staff member: https://www.ontariosoilcrop.org/…/contac…/oscia-field-staff/

More workshops, including a 1 day EFP renewal workshops for those producers who have previously completed and had reviewed a 3rd edition or 4th edition EFP, will be posted on the OSCIA workshop website beginning of September 2020 for workshops offered between September 2020 and March 2021. Producers with Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) and/or Lake Erie Agricultural Demonstrating Sustainability (LEADS) approvals who have their projects complete and paid for and ready to claim, please reach out to reach field staff with any questions.

For CAP, the deadline to submit the claim and appropriate paperwork, is February 15, 2021 and for LEADS), it is January 15, 2021.  A reminder, that all projects need to be complete, paid for and submitted to the Guelph office by the deadline date.  One out of 5 submitted claims received at the Guelph office will be contacted by field staff to arrange a site verification.

As always, cost share programs come and go – so be ready for those opportunities by having your workbooks current (within 5 years) so you can apply as soon as information is announced.
