It will come as no surprise that OSCIA’s annual general meeting is going virtual in 2021. Just like with anything new, this change has brought equal parts opportunities and challenges and we look forward to navigating these virtual times with our steadfast membership.

OSCIA prides itself on its networking and knowledge sharing opportunities and all levels of participants, right from SCIA members, to stakeholders, right up to the leadership of our organization, all look forward to the various events that OSCIA holds throughout the year. Some of our note worthy events at the provincial level are the OSCIA Summer Meeting and the OSCIA Annual Conference. And while we had to miss-out on several of our key in-person networking opportunities this year, COVID-19 has opened the virtual door to the agricultural community. Right from the Ontario Ag. Conference, to the Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS), to the Grey Bruce Farmers Week (GBFW21), there are so many opportunities for producers to participate in events that in the past distance and/or cost may have prevented them from attending.

So, while we are saddened by our missed in-person networking opportunities, we look forward to providing our annual meeting, free of charge, in a virtual format for not only our delegates, past presidents, board of directors, staff, but also our general membership.

We are working hard on the development of two-to-three engaging 2-hour segments that will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Stay tuned! And we hope to see you all during our virtual AGM.
