Harnessing the Power of Soil Health at the Grand River Raceway
July 21 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
/ Tickets: Free – $20.00
We are chomping at the bit to get out into the field for a classic hands-on field day!
We are harnessing up the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Soil Health Team for an afternoon of “hands-on the soil” learning. With the help of the Mobile Soil Technology Suite from the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association, the secrets of the soil pit will be on display. Soil Health experts will be demonstrating the benefits of cover crops, getting the most from drainage, how to reduce compaction and other practical soil health topics. Activities and demonstrations take place from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Plan to stay until 4:30 as the Soil Health Team will be available in the “winners circle” for more questions from 4:00 – 4:30 pm.
The event is made possible by the generous support of the Grand River Agricultural Society. With their support, the Mobile Soil Technology Suite is available for field days across Ontario.
We wish to thank Our Food Future Guelph-Wellington for their support.
Admission is free.
Lunch is available for $ 20 – pre-registration is required before July 7. Lunch begins at 12:00 pm
