The Ontario Soil Network is hosting a province wide online roadtrip this summer. The event will take place entirely on a phone application and farmers will be able to share images, videos, and descriptions of their fields with farmers across Ontario.
The Ontario Soil Network is a farmer-led agricultural organization that aims to support the lasting adoption of environmentally and financially sustainable agricultural practices. In that vein, the roadtrip is intended to highlight activities that improve soil health, which could include the use of cover crops, rotational grazing of livestock, minimal or no tilling, soil amendments or other innovative soil health techniques.
The app is expected to launch on July 1 and will be available for free on both the Apple and Google app stores. If you would like to learn more or share your farm on the roadtrip reach out to Mel Luymes at 519-820-2358 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
