Conservation Agreements
The BadgerWay Program aims to provide long-term protection for important American badger habitat on Ontario farmland, and is piloting the use of Conservation Agreements. Before funding can be released, approved BadgerWay applicants are required to sign a Conservation Agreement with Environment and Climate Change Canada. In the Agreement, participants commit to maintain the funded BMPs for a period of 5 years and to monitor the projects for the length of the agreement.
