Director of Research & Knowledge Transfer

The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) is a unique not-for-profit farm organization whose diverse membership has a significant presence in all agricultural areas of the province and across all major sectors. The mission of OSCIA is to facilitate responsible economic management of soil, water, air and crops through development and communication of innovative farming practices. OSCIA is a leader in agricultural program delivery, including cost-share funding distribution, educational workshop offerings for farmers, and administration of on-farm applied research and knowledge transfer opportunities.

The Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer provides leadership and strategic oversight to OSCIA’s research programs and knowledge mobilization efforts. This role is responsible for the design, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of research and KTT initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, stakeholder priorities, and performance measures. The Director fosters collaboration with industry and government partners, manages departmental staff, and ensures that research outcomes are accessible, relevant, and impactful to the Ontario agricultural sector.

Field Representative

OSCIA is a leader in agricultural program delivery, including cost-share funding distribution, educational workshop offerings for farmers, and administration of on-farm applied research and knowledge transfer opportunities.

OSCIA is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Part Time Field Representative (Remote) to cover the Dufferin, Peel, Wellington, Waterloo regions. Field Representatives are located throughout the province and work collaboratively to deliver educational workshops including the Environmental Farm Plan and commodity specific biosecurity workshops to Ontario farmers. Field Representatives also act as spokespersons for OSCIA-delivered cost-share incentive and research programs by engaging with farmers to promote awareness and provide information on current and upcoming opportunities.

This position offers an hourly rate commensurate with experience and requires travel within a designated region. Field Representatives work within the Program Delivery Department and report to the Field Services Lead.

Financial Officer

The Financial Officer plays a vital role in the day-to-day financial operations of the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA), ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial processes that support the delivery of government-funded agricultural programs. This position is responsible for a wide range of duties, including accounts payable, producer claim validation, and administrative billing.

Working under the direction of a Senior Financial Officer, the Financial Officer collaborates closely with the broader Finance team to uphold compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and reporting standards. The role is essential in maintaining accurate records, supporting audit preparation, and ensuring timely payments to program participants. As a key contributor to financial data integrity, the Financial Officer helps OSCIA meet its accountability obligations to funding partners, board members, and stakeholders, while supporting the organization’s mission to promote sustainable farming practices across Ontario.

Program Analyst – Team Lead

The Program Analyst – Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within the programs department and providing supervisory direction and support to Programs Analysts, ensuring the effective, efficient and accurate delivery of cost-share funding programs delivered by OSCIA.

In addition to carrying out the responsibilities of a Program Analyst, this role provides leadership and guidance to the team, facilitates workflow coordination and analysis, and serves as a key resource for complex application and claim reviews. The Team Lead works closely with the Director of Programs and Program Coordinators training, motivating, and mentoring Analysts, streamlining processes, and ensuring program activities are aligned with internal procedures and organizational objectives. 

Client Services Representative

The Client Services Representative plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service and support to applicants and stakeholders participating in the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association’s (OSCIA) cost-share and educational programs. As the first point of contact for external inquiries, the representative ensures clear, professional, and timely communication, while offering assistance with application and claim submissions, navigation of online forms and systems, and effective use of OSCIA’s website. 

This client-focused role is central to creating a positive experience for program participants and promoting smooth, efficient communication throughout the application and claims lifecycle. Working collaboratively as part of the Programs Department Delivery Team and reporting to the Program Analyst – Team
Lead, the Client Services Representative contributes directly to the overall success and effectiveness of program delivery operations. 

Agricultural Advisor Liaison

Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract

Contract Duration: Immediate start, through to March 2028

OSCIA is seeking a highly motivated Agricultural Advisor Liaison to lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of training initiatives offered by OSCIA to Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs), Professional Agrologists (P.Ags), and other agricultural advisors. This role will play a pivotal part in the expansion phase of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) and support province-wide expansion of the Farmland Health Check-Up (FHCU). The Agricultural Advisor Liaison will be responsible for developing resource materials, delivering training initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and equipping agricultural advisors to support farmers in adopting best management practices (BMPs) that enhance sustainability, soil health, and greenhouse gas emission reduction.

St. Clair Region Soil and Crop Improvement Association is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization representing forward-thinking farmers, of all commodities, who share a keen interest in advancing sustainability. The St. Clair Region is a local affiliate of the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. We are actively looking for someone with ag-related experience to fill the part-time role of Regional Communications Coordinator (RCC).

Job duties include:
• contributing to the regional newsletter
• assisting in recruitment activities for new members
• posting on social media (e.g. X, Facebook, Instagram)
• attending and reporting on local ag-related events while promoting association membership
• managing advertising and subscriber accounts
• helping to prepare grant applications and related claim reports for submission

This is a part-time paid position. Time commitments vary throughout the year but are anticipated to average 3-4 hours per week.
