Director of Business Development and Membership Services

The Director of Business Development and Membership Services provides strategic leadership for organization-wide business growth, funding acquisition, revenue diversification and long-term financial sustainability. The primary mandate is to identify, pursue and secure new business and funding opportunities that advance OSCIA’s strategic priorities and support operations, programs, research, member services and other organizational initiatives.

The Director leads the development of competitive funding proposals, grant applications, partnership submissions, sponsorship opportunities and business cases, coordinating expertise across departments to deliver compelling, financially sound proposals. The role cultivates relationships with government funders, industry partners and other stakeholders and is accountable for maintaining a proactive pipeline of opportunities and reporting measurable results.

The Director oversees member services and organization-wide communications and events, ensuring consistent engagement, member value, brand integrity and stakeholder confidence. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team and works collaboratively with the General Manager and fellow Directors.

Senior Manager of Program Operations

Senior Manager, Research Programs and Operations

The Senior Manager, Research Programs & Operations is a people, program and operations leader responsible for ensuring OSCIA’s portfolio of research programs is effectively planned, resourced, executed and delivered.

This role provides day-to-day leadership to the Research team and operational oversight across multiple concurrent, externally funded research programs. The Senior Manager establishes the systems, processes and accountability needed to ensure projects remain on track, staff have clear direction, budgets are effectively managed, risks are identified and addressed, and contractual and reporting commitments are met.

The incumbent will oversee research planning, project management, data integrity, stakeholder coordination, and reporting functions. They will also ensure compliance with funding agreements, scientific standards, and ethical research practices while supporting partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry collaborators.

Working closely with the Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer and OSCIA’s technical staff and partners, the Senior Manager translates organizational and funding commitments into clear operational plans and ensures the team has the structure, resources and support required to deliver high-quality results.

This role is responsible for executing local outreach, delivering information sharing activities, conducting project inspections, and contributing to program improvement efforts. The Field Representative acts as a regional ambassador for OSCIA and upholds high standards of service, integrity, and agricultural knowledge in support of sustainable farm practices.

Soil Health Specialist

Type: Full-time; Term ending March 31, 2028

The Soil Health Specialist is responsible for providing scientific and technical leadership in the collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and communication of soil health data across OSCIA’s applied research portfolio. The incumbent serves as OSCIA’s technical lead for soil health monitoring and assessment activities within the On-Farm Applied Research and Monitoring (ONFARM) Program and provides specialized expertise to Living Lab Ontario and other research initiatives involving soil health, agronomic performance, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience.

The position supports the development and evaluation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that improve soil function, productivity, environmental outcomes, and long-term farm sustainability. Working collaboratively with researchers, government agencies, academic institutions, industry partners, producer organizations, and farmers, the Soil Health Specialist transforms complex datasets into meaningful scientific insights and practical recommendations that support farmer decision-making, program development, policy advancement, and knowledge transfer activities.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining soil health data governance frameworks, ensuring scientific rigor in data collection and analysis, supporting research publications, and advancing Ontario’s capacity to monitor and evaluate soil health outcomes through applied agricultural research.

Agricultural Climate Modelling Intern

(Term ending March 31, 2028)

The Agricultural Climate Modelling Intern supports greenhouse gas (GHG) modelling and applied agricultural research activities delivered through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). The role will support the collection, quality control, modelling, analysis, and interpretation of farm operational, soil health, and GHG data used to assess the environmental outcomes of agricultural Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs).
Working with OSCIA Research and Knowledge Transfer staff, farmer cooperators, service providers, and other project partners, the Intern will develop and evaluate farm-specific GHG and carbon models using HOLOS and the DeNitrification and DeComposition (DNDC) model. The position will contribute to model calibration and validation, regional BMP assessment, program reporting, and the translation of modelling results into practical information for Ontario agriculture.
This internship is primarily data- and modelling-focused, with opportunities to support related research, reporting, and knowledge translation activities as required.
