The Biosecurity Workshops and Webinars are a good place to start addressing your on-farm biosecurity program. These are commodity-specific opportunities and are offered as a âŻone-day, in-person WorkshopâŻor as âŻtwo 2-hour Webinars*. Content is the same in both the workshop and the webinar, making it easier for participants to choose the learning opportunity that best suits their needs. During the workshop or webinar, a technical expert, such as a veterinarian or certified crop advisor, will show you the benefits of having an on-farm biosecurity program, help you to identify key practices to enhance biosecurity measures on-farm and you will have the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable OSCIA staff about cost-share opportunities and network with fellow farmers.
* For webinars, participation in BOTH sessions is required and you must have a reliable internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer to participate.Â
The Workshop or Webinars are open to new and established producers. Farm families and management teams are encouraged to attend together. Taking a Workshop or Webinar is a first step in creating a biosecurity plan for your operation and identifying gaps in your current practices that could be putting your farm at risk from pests and/or disease.Â
After attending, you may wish to follow up with your local veterinarian, certified crop advisor or the Ontario Beekeepers Technical Transfer Team to assist you in creating a dynamic and complete biosecurity plan for your farm.Â
